Middle Smithfield Elementary School, originally established in 1959 as the Middle Smithfield Township School, currently serves approximately 400 students in a vibrant educational community. We boast a dedicated team comprising over 40 teachers and more than 20 support staff members who are committed to addressing the holistic needs of each student. Our comprehensive frameworks include the School-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS), Student Assistance Program (SAP), and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), ensuring tailored academic and social-emotional support for all students.
At Middle Smithfield Elementary, we strive to cultivate a nurturing community where every student experiences a profound sense of belonging. We are dedicated to fostering inclusivity, respect, and shared responsibility for student success. Our goal is to empower students with critical thinking, empathy, and problem-solving skills necessary to thrive and make a positive impact on the world. We honor diversity and provide dynamic, tiered support to meet the comprehensive academic and social-emotional needs of all learners. Together with our dedicated staff and engaged community, we are committed to developing our students through a diverse curriculum that ensures every individual is well-rounded, valued, and prepared for a fulfilling life.
Our school also offers a variety of clubs, enriching students’ extracurricular lives and complementing academic endeavors. The dedicated Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) plays a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience, ensuring every student has the opportunity for success and growth.
Furthermore, we value our partnerships with the Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 (CIU20) and Head Start, which enhance educational opportunities and support for our students. These collaborations extend the resources available to our school community, contributing to our comprehensive educational approach.
